CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
A.J. began his career in 1982 and has over 30 years of financial services experience, including long careers with one of the largest banking institutions in the U.S. and a renowned certified public accounting firm. He established A.J. Amato Wealth Management in 2007 and combined his extensive knowledge with a desire to provide comprehensive financial guidance on a more personal level. His focus at the firm is on retirement planning, estate planning and fee-based investment management.
Prior to establishing his own firm and affiliating with LPL Financial in 2001, A.J. enjoyed a fifteen-year career with KeyCorp and concluded his career there as a Vice President in the Private Banking & Investing department.
In 2002, A.J. earned the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He also holds a Certified Public Accountant license that he obtained in 1990 while working for Ernst & Young. In addition, he holds Series 7, 66 and 24 registrations with LPL Financial and a New York State Life, Accident & Health insurance license.
A.J. is an active member of the Southern Rensselaer County Chapter of Rotary International. He is also an Investment Committee Member at the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Previous organization activities include Board Member of the St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation, Board Member of the East Greenbush Education Foundation and Treasurer of the Maternal Infant Network of the Capital Region.
He and his wife Ann have been married for over 30 years, and have two children. Their family travels together and has a passion for many outdoor activities and sports, especially following the New York Yankees. One of the family’s goals is to visit every National Park in the country. Some of the mountain scenes you see in the A.J. A.J. holds a B.S in Finance from Siena College and is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Estate Planning Council of Northeastern New York.
Honors/Awards: LPL Financial Chairman's Award 2021-2014 & 2012; LPL Financial Patriot's Club 2013, 2011-2007. Membership in LPL Financial Chairman's Club and Patriot's Club is based on year end production and is currently reserved for top achievers and represents less than 5% and 8% (respectively) of all LPL Financial Advisors.
